97th Women’s Western Junior Championship
Hinsdale Golf Club | Hinsdale, IL
June 10-14, 2024
The Women's Western Junior is open to amateur girls who are 18 years of age and will not reach 19 years of age by June 30, 2023, have an up-to-date 18-hole handicap index that does not exceed 9.4 under the World Handicap System and are not college or university students. The WWGA Committee limits the field to a maximum of 78 contestants.
The championship begins with 36 holes of stroke-play qualifying, after which the field is cut to the low 16 players for match play. In the event of a tie for the 16th position, a sudden-elimination playoff will determine the final match-play qualifiers. Four rounds of 18-hole matches will decide the Women's Western Junior champion.
The Women's Western Junior champion receives an exemption into the 2024 Women's Western Amateur, as do the runner-up and the top three (and ties) in stroke play for the 2025 Championship. The championship has also been approved under the AJGA's Performance-Based Entry recognition system, with the champion earning 12 AJGA stars, eight (8) for the runner-up and semi-finalists, and four (4) for the quarterfinalists.
